Meet The Orthodontist

Dr Aidan Callanan

I graduated from University College Cork with a first class honours degree in 2001 and spent the next few years working in general practice in England. While working as a senior house officer in the paediatric, oral surgery and radiology departments in Guys Hospital in London I obtained my MFDS credentials from the Royal Colleges of Surgeons and Physicians Glasgow. After this I started my training as a specialist registrar in orthodontics at East Grinstead Hospital. In 2007 I completed my MSC at Kings College London and successfully passed the Morth examinations at the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh later that year. I am on the General Dental Council’s specialist list for Orthodontics.

In my spare time I talk a good golf game but my on course performance often leaves at lot to be desired.

Aidan is married to Naomi and they like to spend their spare time travelling and exploring new cultures.

Orla

Customer Care Manager

Our pleasant Customer Care Manager Orla will be your first point of contact and will be able to guide you through the best treatment options available. She is thoroughly trained in catering for your own personal circumstances and performs her job successfully through her great initiative, ensuring you have a positive experience at Zen Orthodontics.

Orla aims to further her education in Dentistry to ensure she remains in touch with the patients’ needs. In her spare time Orla enjoys painting and drawing and spending quality time with her daughter.

Claire

Claire is our fully qualified Orthodontic Therapist. Claire has successfully completed her Certificate in Orthodontic Therapy, from the University of Central Lancashire, where she was awarded ‘Best overall student’ for the highest marks obtained. Claire also received her Diploma in Orthodontic Therapy from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh.

Claire had previously worked as a Dental nurse for 6 years holding qualifications in Dental Nursing and Dental Radiography. Claire loves her role as an Orthodontic Therapist and in her spare time she enjoys painting and weaving.

Victoria

Victoria is currently studying to become an Orthodontic Therapist through UCLAN and will continue to work towards her diploma through the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh. She had previous worked as a highly qualified Dental Nurse registered with the General Dental Council.

Victoria is a keen team player who offers excellent customer service and complete patient confidentiality. She is also studying for her Dental Radiography Certificate.

Outside of work, Victoria loves spending time with her family and her Siamese cat Moses.

Jenna

Jenna is a qualified Dental Nurse and has experience in general dentistry, orthodontics and working as a dental technician. Jenna is registered with the General Dental Council.

Jenna thrives while working as part of a team and will endeavour to provide patients with excellent customer service. She hopes to further her dental knowledge and experience by obtaining her Dental Radiography Certificate in the near future.

She is a keen football player and loves spending time walking in the Mournes.

Stacey

Stacey is a qualified Dental Nurse with over four years’ experience in the dental field and is registered with the general dental council.

She acknowledges that oral hygiene is of utmost importance and enjoys relaying this information to the patients. Furthermore, she utilises her qualities to make the patients experience as comfortable as possible.

Stacey looks forward to gaining new skills and qualification within the dental profession in the near future.

She is a keen hockey player and loves spending time with her family and friends.
